Joining Ginny.
I can’t say much about what I’m currently knitting…it’s a gift for a friend who occasionally reads this blog and I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Hopefully I will finish it by the end of the week. I’ll be sure to post photos after she has received it.
Yesterday I had my 20 week anatomy scan of the baby. This particular ultrasound is much more in depth than the previous ultrasounds. In addition to checking the heartbeat, they check for growth rate, major organs, brain development, and of course, the gender. For the first time, Gabe and I opted not to find out the sex of the baby. We decided that since we already have a boy and a girl that it really doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s healthy. Plus, it’s kind of fun not knowing. Anticipation can be quite sweet. However, I have to confess, I almost caved a few times and shouted out “Just tell me!” I’m glad I didn’t. It makes waiting for his, or her, arrival all the more exciting.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Happy New Year my friends.
That yarn looks lovely. Nice to hear from someone who is choosing not to know the gender before the birth.
Thanks, Juliann. It does make the waiting that much more exciting! Kind of hard to plan my knitted items though…
that yarn is so pretty! what is it? Glad the baby bean is doing so well. When are you due? I think its awesome that your waiting to find out. Are you planning some knits for the new little one? probably a silly question 😉
Hey Jeanette,
The yarn is Rowen Felted Tweed DK. I don’t know the colorway because the label isn’t in front of me but I will find out and post it for you. I’m due in May, but I don’t think I’ll be making any new baby knits except for a few diaper covers and perhaps a blanket at least until after the baby is born. I’ve never been a fan of gender neutral colors and I don’t want to risk knitting up some lovely girly sweater and then not be able to use it! I still have quite a few sweaters from the first two kids so this baby will have plenty of knitted hand me downs!
That yarn looks so soft, I bet whoever receives it will love it! 🙂
