Yesterday I posted that I would explain why I have been so tired lately, and slightly absent from the blogging world. I feel like that last photo offers up a pretty decent explanation. Last month we discovered that I am pregnant with our third child. The baby is due in May and we couldn’t be more thrilled. The morning sickness was pretty rough last week. I was taking prescription anti-nausea meds around the clock, and my poor family ate out more than I’d like to admit because there was no way I was going to cook. Just opening my fridge sent me running for the bathroom. I couldn’t even knit because counting stitches made my head spin. I’d never had morning sickness like that before. Over the last few days, the nausea has subsided, and I feel like I’m starting to regain a little of my old energy and while my clothes are already feeling a tad too snug, I feel great.
But enough about that. Look at my sweater! Isn’t it wonderful? I loved this pattern. Full disclosure: I would never use this yarn again. I loved the color, but it pilled too much for my taste and in some photos, like the close-ups of the buttons, you can see the yarn has already turned a bit fuzzy.
Speaking of the buttons, I am in love with them. Bees! They are from an Etsy store called Wooly Moss Roots. As soon as I saw them, I had to have them. The couple who made them have so many adorable carved items, and I highly recommend checking out their blog.
You might notice how I only have one button buttoned on this sweater. Normally I would show you what it looks like completely buttoned, but since I cast on, I have gained ten pounds, and there are certain parts of my (ahem) anatomy that have expanded since then, so it doesn’t look very good buttoned up.
In a nutshell, I’m glad I chose Inland for my first KAL, and I know this sweater will get lots of use this winter. It took forever to post photos, but better late than never, right?
That sweater is gorgeous! great job. Those buttons…and Wooly Moss….I ordered some bee buttons from them a few months ago for a project I’m doing for my daughter (a beekeeper) I just love the things they make! and I was hoping for good news 😉 Congratulations to you and your lovely family!
Thanks, Jeanette! I think the bee buttons make the sweater. I am very happy with them….and the sweater…oh, and the baby too! 🙂
Amazing sweater! Even without use of the buttons I bet it gets plenty of use 🙂
Thank you, Elise. And yes, it’s still quite wearable without being buttoned, thank goodness.
Congratulations on your sweet little secret!
I love that sweater! One of my absolute favorite colours! BTW I’m extremely curious about the yarn. I just knit an almost identical colour in Berroco Vintage…
AND I just wanted to say… don’t worry about your *ahem* expanding parts you look so absolutely gorgeous, pregnancy definitely looks good on you!
Joanna, the yarn is KnitPicks Biggo. You can find more details on my Ravelry page. I was excited about this yarn because it was a great price and the color was exactly as I had imagined the sweater in my head when I pictured it all knit up…but it was not the quality that I would have hoped for. I have used different KnitPick yarns in the past with great results, but unfortunately, this blend missed the mark. Thank you for the compliments, and I’m going to check out the color ways of the Berroco Vintage. Might have to keep that in mind for my next chunky knit project…
I love your sweater, gorgeous colour and the buttons just enhance the whole thing 🙂
Congrats on your awesome news, glad to hear you are feeling better.

Thank you, Natalie!
The sweater is great and congratulations on your new little one!
Thanks, Tonya! We are thrilled and I’m sure I’ll be posting constant baby updates over the next seven months.
Gorgeous cardigan. I love how it is long and the beautiful baby bump and whimsical buttons make it even more special.
Thank you, Zena! The bump was an unintended design element 😉
What a lovely sweater, and pictures. Hope you’re through with the pregnancy nausea soon. Congratulations!
I’m feeling much better, thank you, Becki.
